Fen Research is headquartered at the St John's Innovation Centre in Cambridge, a location rich with personal and historical meaning for Andrew Gower. This is more than just an office—it's a return to where his game development journey began. In the early 2000s, this same building housed Jagex, the company behind the legendary game RuneScape.

Jagex's early days at St John's Innovation Centre were the first steps in its rise as a leader in online gaming. By choosing the same space for Fen Research, Gower seems to be paying homage to that history while embarking on a new venture. Interestingly, Fen Research is just over a mile from Jagex's current offices at the Cambridge Science Park—a few minutes' drive away.

On Reddit, a user named /u/tdorrington remarked, "I'm from Cambridge, and from the map, it looks like Fen Research is based in the office where Jagex had their first office. I used to work in the building next door!" This small observation highlights the enduring bonds within Cambridge's tech scene.

With Brighter Shores, Andrew and his team are aiming to create another standout game. Whether it will achieve the iconic status of RuneScape remains to be seen, but the decision to base Fen Research in such a meaningful location feels deliberate.
